giveaway: chocolatao.

Posted on January 30th, by mb in giveaway. 28 comments

there are a few beloved pleasures that make a regular appearance here on my blog, two of them being acupuncture and chocolate. a friend of ours recently sent us his chocolate bar, chocolatao, that combines the science of chinese medicine with deliciousness of organic chocolate and after one bite, i was sold.

the verdict: the chocolates are super delicious, the concoctions are brilliant and i truly love the intention behind what they do.

when traver boehm was still an intern at yo-san university here in venice (where i get my weekly acupuncture treatments!) he had a patient that refused to take her raw herb decoction. her reply was, “these literally taste awful and there’s nothing you can do to get me to take them.. unless you can find a way to get them into chocolate!” bam, the seed was planted.

the company uses TCHO chocolate for the bars, which is a free-trade, organic company up in san fran. the chocolates, which are anti-oxidant rich as it is, have goji berries mixed in them upping the antioxidant count even higher.

for the remainder of this school year, the company giving 10 percent of their proceeds to yo-san for their education fund. prior to this promotion, and once again after it, they were giving 10% to wounded warrior, CALM, and the make a wish foundation. “joel and i both feel that if we get to live in SB, and make chocolate for a living, we’ve got to be giving something back to the community,” said traver.

check out their amazing company, and please leave a comment here on the post if you’d like to be one of two lucky winners that get a sample pack of the bars!

giveaway will close next wednesday, february 6.

the winners are sarah choueiry and alexi tetrault! congrats guys!
