giveaway: tea time!

Posted on January 8th, by mb in giveaway. 116 comments

i LOVE tea.

tea in the bathtub, tea at yoga, tea on a walk with the pup. green tea, breakfast tea, masala chai tea, you name it. it’s always the perfect complement to whatever i’m doing, and helps me stay present and relaxed.

lucky for me, celestial seasonings was generous enough to send me a winter’s worth of yummy wellness teas, and they’d like to send TWO of you a big stock also.

my faves so far: tummy mint, antioxidant max green tea blood orange star fruit, and natural detox (which has milk thistle in it which is SO good for taming crazy hormones.)

if you’d like to enter, please leave a comment below letting me know one health-focused resolution you’ve created for yourself in 2013. i’ll select two readers at random to win.

(giveaway will close by next wednesday, january 16.

update: the winners are carol trautwein and krista grandstaff. congratulations!)

This new year not only do i plan to keep up with daily exercise, i have another resolution for myself health wise to exercise for my well being. Before the new year, my winter vacation made me slack on my daily ymca gym trips. At first the break was nice, but then i started to feel unbalanced. The more i blamed feeling like i ‘had’ to workout for my anxiety, the more i realized that it was the lack of that exercise that was making me feel this way. As of right now, i am going to exercise so that i can feel balanced, every chance i can. Some tea would help with my balance :)

  2. Patricia says:

    More rest!

  3. Melissa feola says:

GET BACK INTO YOGA and have my hard work pay off when I feel proud of how I look on my wedding day. With so much going on in life on all fronts, I forget to take care of my body when this should really be my #1 priority. I want to get reconnected with my body and myself in 2013, which always helps calm the noise in my mind… that… and drink more water ;)
PS. I miss Boulder, CO because the Celestial Seasonings factory is there, it might be one of my favorite places on Earth.

  4. ashley lothrop says:

My new year’s resolution is to “Live in the Now”. I wouldn’t say that my life has been full of regrets; however I want to focus on being present and content with what life throws at me. Between exercising, eating healthy, and enjoying the company of good friends and family, my goal is definitely attainable.

  5. Jordan says:

My resolution is to drink more water! It is so easy for me to get wrapped up in my day that I forget to drink water and I end the day feeling dehydrated.

  6. Amelia says:

For my own mental, emotion and physical health – and once my funds are replenished, I would love to return to Surya and continue growing in my practice. I have never felt better or my body more clean and pure than when practicing and breathing in those classes. I miss them dearly but just simply don’t have the money as of right now for classes. In the mean time, I want to practice at home and try to remember all I learned in the fall ;)

  7. Brigid says:

I want to practice more patience during my day – especially on the subway and walking crowded city streets. I’d rather take a second to breathe it out rather than stress.

  8. Andrea says:

I workout a lot and do yoga a lot so my health goals this year are more focused on mental health. My goals this year are to focus on myself, not take things personally or over analyze, and meditate. Also drink less coffee and more tea!

  9. Sam says:

2013 is already off to a world wind of goals.. This Sunday I will be running in my first full marathon! Another goal I have set for myself this year is to train, enter, and complete my first triathlon. 2013 will be a lot of firsts for me & I can’t wait :)

And of course I couldn’t start my day off right without my regular cup o tea.. My recent fav is this Tulsi Ginger organic tea my bf brought back from India!

  10. steen says:

My resolution is to drink a mason jar of fresh juice every morning in lieu of coffee so I can ramp up my body with natural energy. It’s a resolution I managed to maintain for a few straight weeks in 2012 and I traded in my afternoon coffee for tea. Crazy how much your stress levels can dissipated when you feed your body right.

  11. Katy hornaday says:

I’ve got a 13 month old and I’ve spent the last year being really focused on my little. so this year, i’m vowing to make some me-time on the yoga mat once a day and so far, so great.

  12. Tess says:

one thing i am really working on this year and presently is cooking more at home, less dining out (i have a gazillion neglected cook books all gifts from my mother over the years – so there’s plenty to work with) and to work on my home yoga practice, and to strengthen my core to step my yoga practice up, and of course, MORE TEA. 2.5 years in an office job got me hooked on coffee – prior to that i had not been a coffee drinker for 5 years; it had always been tea! so a new balance of tea and coffee, less coffee. i could go on. but i won’t. <3 yay tea!

  13. Sara says:

I have decided to quit complaining about my arms and get these babies toned up! So I’ve committed to doing 50 push ups a day.
Furthermore, I have committed to optimism, positivity and spend time with those who make me smile, laugh and feel like a better…me. Rather than – spend time with those who bring me down or make me speak ill things about others.
Two commitments that I feel will make me a better person, inside and out for 2013 :)

  14. callie siobhan says:

Keep on keepin on with my lifelong goal of creating balance in everyday life. Listening to what my body needs, creating clearings (physical, emotional, mental, etc), yoga, reading, snuggling my hubby and darling kitties, tea, baths, skiing!! Embracing the yin energy my body craves this time of year! Adore your blog, makes me smile and inspires on the daily. :)
Peace and fluffy snowflakes! (It is snowing like a mofo here!!)
    Callie from British Columbia

  15. My Health Resolution is to meditate everyday. I am working on my mental health and emotional health this year. I realized how much that plays into our actual physical health and in order to obtain good physical health, you have to find a peace with your mental and emotional :) . 27. Alexi says:

2013 and its time to focus. My nutrition schooling + passion for health & wellness has made me well-versed in what IS good for me, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I take my own advice all the time. By doing what is fair for them, I will be doing what is better for me, too. We were waiting for them to get their last set of puppy shots before taking them more than a few houses away on walks, but they’re good to go as of this week and the two walks I’ve done already made me feel better about myself in my quest to be more fit AND as a furbaby mama!

  67. Krista Grandstaff says:

I LOVE tea as well.. herbal, black, green…white… sitting here with a cup of fennel right now :) I have decided to make my health a priority this year, with the thought being that I am not good to anyone if I am run down completely as I was this past year. I’ve realized that not getting enough sleep, taking my vitamins and supplements…even not getting enough exercise, doesn’t hurt only me.. Like most smokers, I am all too aware of the health effects smoking causes to my lungs. However one that I forget about is the damage it does to my heart. Three days before Christmas my mother has a quadruple bypass. Yep, scared me to pieces! I will not allow myself to end up in her shoes!

Tea, hot or cold, has always been a big factor in my life. i became a big celestial seasoning fan in the early 70′s and morning thundar is my favorite morning tea.
